ROOTSMEN will be exhibiting at Cosmoprof Asia 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, from 11 to 13 November 2026, at booth 5G-K2C.
We build custom cosmetic bags, travel accessories and soft goods for brands, retailers and promotional programmes. If you are sourcing in any of those categories, this is the point in the year where a conversation that normally takes six weeks of email can be done in twenty minutes with the product in your hand.
Why a show is worth the trip for this category#
Soft goods are judged by hand. A quotation can name a 600D coated nylon, a #5 nylon chain and a 5 mm closed-cell foam, and two factories can quote that same specification and deliver products that feel nothing alike.
That gap is not something a specification sheet closes. It closes when two samples are side by side on a table.
A show compresses the part of sourcing that is slowest by correspondence. Material hand — how a PU behaves when it is creased, whether a canvas is as heavy as its weight suggests, what a recycled fabric looks like next to a virgin one. Construction — whether a box pouch stands up empty, whether a zip wraps far enough to open properly, whether a structured base sits flat. Finish level — stitch density, edge binding, and how a corner is built where three seams meet.
Those last three are usually what separates two quotations that look identical on paper. Our note on how to compare two bag factory quotations sets out the line items that are not like for like.
What is at the booth#
Built pieces across the three categories we work in: custom cosmetic bags, travel accessories and soft goods — flat pouches, box pouches, structured vanity cases, hanging organizers and packing cubes among them.
Material and hardware references, so a specification can be settled against the actual thing rather than against a colour name or a fabric code.
And the people who answer your emails. Development questions get answered at the booth rather than relayed and returned a day later.
Who the booth is for#
Brand and product teams working on a cosmetic bag line, a gift-with-purchase programme or a travel range, who want to compare constructions before a tech pack is written.
Retail and private-label buyers comparing suppliers on finish level rather than on unit price alone.
Promotional and corporate-gift sourcing, where the decision usually turns on lead time and on consistency across a large run.
Existing customers — if we are already working together, three days in the same building is the cheapest development round of the year.
How to make a show meeting useful#
Arriving with nothing is still better than not arriving, but there is a version of this that saves a month.
Bring the contents, not the brief. The single most useful thing a buyer can put on a table is what the bag has to hold. Dimensions are derived from the contents, and a bag specified from a reference photograph is usually wrong in depth. Our note on cosmetic bag sizes and dimensions covers measuring from the contents.
Bring the piece you are unhappy with. A current product with a complaint attached — the zip sticks, the base sags, the lining stains — is a faster brief than any drawing.
Know the quantity and the date. Not exactly, but to the right order of magnitude. Both change which constructions and which materials are worth discussing at all.
Say what the piece has to prove. A bag sold at retail, a bag given away at a counter and a bag that sits in a hotel room are three different products with three different cost structures.
Ask about the documentation. If the programme sells into the EU or the US, the paperwork is part of the specification rather than an afterthought — see what compliance documents you need.
Worth reading before the show#
Three notes that make the conversation at the booth considerably shorter.
What drives the unit price of a custom cosmetic bag, so a quotation can be read rather than only compared.
How to write a tech pack for a cosmetic bag, which is what we need in order to quote accurately.
What MOQ really means for custom cosmetic bags, because the quantity question is usually the first one at a booth.
Booth details, and arranging a time#
Cosmoprof Asia 2026, 11–13 November 2026, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, booth 5G-K2C.
If you would prefer a set time rather than taking your chances on the floor, contact us before the show and we will hold a slot. Walk-ups are welcome too.
If you cannot make Hong Kong, the cosmetic bag range and the travel accessories range show built examples with dimensions, and a brief sent through contact gets the same answer it would get at the booth.
